Blakroc (A Black Keys Project), feat. Mos Def & Jim Jones
Ain’t Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo)
The Black Keys want to take you on a journey to a distant land of fantasy. Here the Blues-rockers take the irresistibly dour oil of their heavy guitars and relentless percussion and mix it with the watery soul of hip hop and some of its most talented poets. Normally, one wouldn’t expect much, but in this brave new world, the two behave as if they are more than made for each other; they are both of the same entity, and that is music. Out on November 27.

6 hours agoSo today during lunch, Gabi and I were walking back to our spot from the cafteria. And as we passed by a group of people, someone’s cell phone rang and it was the Kim Possible ringtone. Automatically, Gabi turned to me and said “What’s the sitch?”
Highlight of my day.

- Two Dancers
All The King’s Men
For me, there’s always a couple of albums that I look back upon at the end of the year and suffer considerable regret for overlooking. I mentioned this before when I talked about the beauty of Earlimart’s Hymn & Her from last year, and this time around it’s all about Wild Beasts. Each element of their music is orgasmically ethereal in a different way, and Thorpe and Flemming’s vocals are intoxicating and just wild, as the band’s moniker would suggest.
